There are no borders in “Family".

Located on the southern coast of China, Hong Kong has a pleasant climate and is a beautiful place to visit. It’s a very modern and cosmopolitan city that attracted about 65.1 M visitors in 2018. Tourist information can be found here  and here

Hong Kong is one of our newest programs to partner with and an is excellent choice for people who are interested in a very economical adoption.  Global partners with International Social Services (ISS) as our provider in Hong Kong.  Hong Kong has a well-established foster care system and a reputation for providing excellent medical and personal care to children available for adoption.  They also provide prospective families with extensive medical, educational, and developmental information.  Hong Kong has provided Global with information on a just few of the many available waiting children and prospective families who have been properly vetted and screened can request an invitation to join Global’s private Waiting Children Facebook Group. Posting photos and information about waiting children is a form of advocacy and not a substitute for adoption services, which can only be provided by a licensed and accredited Adoption Service Provider.

While the foreign fees to adopt from Hong Kong are very reasonable, there are other factors to consider when deciding which program is the best choice for you.  Hong Kong will not allow a preliminary match with a waiting child until a family’s home study has been completed and the dossier submitted, although they will review a prospective adoptive parent(s) current or previous home study to determine whether the family would be an appropriate match for a specific child.  Hong Kong will allow adoptions for married couples and single mothers so long as they meet certain criteria.  Click here  for eligibility requirements and for answers to other frequently asked questions about this program please check out FAQs section below.  Although not mentioned in the requirements, Hong Kong strongly prefers that single women who apply to adopt have no other children with special needs in the home, and work in fields that provide extensive education or training in working with children with special needs, such as education, pre-school, psychology, social work, etc.

Another important consideration is that Hong Kong requires that the home study agency be specifically approved as a provider under Global Adoptions.  Please contact the office for more information on this requirement, preferably before selecting an agency to conduct your home study.

If you are a prospective adoptive parent who is interested in viewing children we are currently advocating for, please request an invitation to our waiting children page. Click here to join.
